DOUBLE TRIUMPH FOR THE TEAM AT THE VOLCANO BTT

From the 6th to the 9th of April, the Volcat MTB took place in Igualada (Barcelona). A 4 stage race with a total of 200km and 5000m of climbing.
The team was represented by Janina Wüst, Txell Figueras, Peeter Pruus and Hans Becking.
In the first stage the BUFF-MEGAMO TEAM achieved a double podium: Janina won the women's category and Hans came second. Txell did a very good job and finished fifth and Peeter finished twelfth.
On the second day the team stayed in the lead. Hans and Janina took the overall lead, repeating their positions from the first stage. Txell was again fifth and in the same position overall. Peeter started the stage with physical discomfort, but was eventually able to make up ground and finished eighth, also the same position as overall..
The third stage was tough for the team, but Janina and Hans were able to maintain their lead. The Swiss took first place again, with Hans in sixth. Txell finished sixth and Peeter finished 43rd due to physical problems.
The race ended with the fourth and final stage, in which the team secured the double lead: Hans and Janina were declared winners of the race. Hans won the race for the fourth time in a row. Janina finished on the podium in every stage, first on the first three and second on the last. As for Txell, she was also very consistent throughout the day, almost always finishing in the top five in the qualifying and consolidating her fifth place overall in the final stage. Peeter was a little further away from the top positions due to a fall and some physical problems that prevented him from climbing positions throughout the stages.
