SAUVAGE:
TOUR DU LORD
CHAPTER 02. WITH CLÀUDIA GALICIA
This time we have travelled to the Vall de Lord, located in the north of the Solsonès region, in the center of Catalonia. All its natural elements perfectly describe the essence of the Pre-Pyrenees: the mountains, rivers and vegetation make this place the perfect spot to enjoy on two wheels.
On this occasion we accompanied Clàudia Galicia on an adventure that is far from what she is used to. With her Megamo West we have covered a total of 170 km in a weekend, staying overnight in a mountain hut and enjoying a totally incredible route, which has made us feel in a very different way.
SAUVAGE... FROM THE FRENCH ''SAVAGE'', A TRIP THAT NEEDS NO OTHER DESCRIPTION.
|
Used to carrying the weight of the bib on her bike and the pressure of the result on her shoulders, Clàudia decided to change on this occasion, the competition for a new way of understanding cycling. After her shoulder injury that prevented her from cycling for a season and after returning to cycling in this adventure, she has realized that this is just the beginning of many other experiences like this one, experiences that will allow her to enjoy cycling from a different point of view.

FINDING EVERYTHING THAT MAKES US VIBRATE AND LIVE AGAIN.
FINDING EVERYTHING THAT MAKES US VIBRATE AND LIVE AGAIN.
This cycle touring route is divided into several stages that allow its participants to cross ski resorts, cycle between idyllic mountain passes, discover charming villages and taste excellent gastronomy.
We chose the Lord Tour Sauvage, a gravel route based on two distinct stages, so let the adventure begin!
FIRST STAGE: STEEP CLIMBS, SPECTACULAR VIEWS.
09:00 AM. We leave Sant Llorenç de Morunys on time. We have 80km ahead of us and 2,600 meters of elevation gain to reach the refuge where we will spend the night.
We start pedaling, this will undoubtedly be a stage that will force us to overcome steep climbs and to maintain perseverance to gain altitude. The best thing about the slopes are the spectacular views that they offer us, we feel rewarded and we enjoy the landscape and all the nature that surrounds us.

|
After enjoying an intense day, we arrive at the Rasos Refuge. It is 17:00 PM, the guards are very kind to us and we feel at home. The Rasos refuge belongs to an old ski resort that had to close several years ago, but its charm is still present and makes it a really cozy place.
We enjoy a delicious dinner and go to sleep, a new day full of surprises awaits us.
SECOND STAGE: WE BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHY ''SAUVAGE''.
08:30 AM. Although our route marked 90km return and 2600m of elevation gain, we decided to modify the track a little bit and we ended up doing 3100m of elevation gain. It was really hard, but we enjoyed it a lot!
It was undoubtedly the top stage of the weekend, more kilometers, more elevation gain... with each pedal stroke we understand even more the qualifier that gives its name to this adventure.
The landscapes that this stage gives us are really impressive, we ride spectacular roads where peace and quiet reigns while we enjoy beautiful views of Pedraforca that rises imposing very close to us.

THE HARDEST PART ARRIVES: 1500M IN ONE RUN

Not only do we reach the hardest part, the rain also catches up with us. The ascent begins until we reach Port del Compte, we are at an altitude of 2500m and we crown Prat Llong. Our Megamo West, although full of mud, still behaves perfectly.
We stop in the middle of the road to remove a small snake that seemed to be lost.
END OF THE STAGE: WE DESCEND TO THE END OF THE ROUTE.
We visualize the descent, and although the rain is still there, it's time to enjoy the final stretch.
While we still feel the pressure in our legs, we remember the best moments of the route and we realize that this has been an adventure that has made us feel good, we sum it up in extreme happiness.
SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO FORGET THE FINISH LINE TO ENJOY A TOTALLY SAUVAGE EXPERIENCE.
