Gravel allows us to go a little further and deeper into the lush nature on two wheels. It let us, above all, do what we are most passionate about: discover new routes, linking this road with the other track, this small river with that pass, the pass beyond with this road...
Always with the uncertainty of whether we will be able to connect one point with the other without pushing the bike, whether that fantastic track will turn into a small path of sharp stones where our wheels will be unable to hold the balance. We are addicted to this uncertainty and this small degree of adventure. That's why there isn't a better companion than the Megamo West for an outing like this.
I AM ONE OF THOSE WHO THINK THAT EVERYONE SHOULD PUT A MOUNTAIN IN THEIR LIFE.
The mountain puts us in a moment of effort, uncertainty, insecurity... that the much-debated comfort zone of everyday life doesn't let us see.
The mountain places us, on many occasions, in an uncomfortable situation, with adversity, patience, and constancy.
However, without difficulties and uncertain moments we don't evolve in life. It wouldn't be possible to become the best version of ourselves without these obstacles, whether on a bicycle or in any other way.

The ascent to the Torreta de l'Orri (2,437 m) is the highest point of the Orri massif and is popularly known as the Pic del'Orri, although, if we speak properly, it's a peak of 1,436 meters located in the same massif. Therefore, from San Juan de l'Erm it's a climb along a beautiful track.
The first part runs through forests of conifers, black pine, red pine, and firs, where this time of year, mushrooms begin to poke their heads out.
THE FIRST BLOOM, THE MULTICOLORED FLOWERS TURN THE MEADOWS INTO A MANTLE WORTHY OF BEING OBSERVED.

Where horses and cows merge, where foals and steers begin to make their first steps in life. The birds sing from sunrise till sunset; it seems that their song celebrates the summer that has been so long in coming this year. Occasionally, we see a woodpecker following our pedal strokes.
With these captivating sounds and a striking view, we gain altitude until we see the Pic del'Orri above the forest. The vegetation is becoming clearer, and the track continues to climb.
ZIG ZAGGING WE JUST MADE THE LAST CURVES.
We crown the Pic del'Orri, with the two large telecommunications antennas that are visible from many points of the Pyrenees, since it's a totally isolated mountain and located somewhat further south than the rest of the great mountains of the Pallars Sobirà.

We can see the Pica d'Estats, the Montsent de Pallars... We talk about the memories that some of these summits bring us. Then we eat, get warm and continue our route.
A shady track, quite broken, all in constant descent, will take us to the village of Vilamur. The heat begins to rage, and we take the opportunity to refresh ourselves in a bar in the same town.
WE CONTINUE ADDING MORE METERS OF ELEVATION GAIN.
With 1000 meters positive already pedaled, we have to continue until we reach the Port del Cantó.
We continue along the trails that will make us accumulate 1000 meters more vertical drop, the encounter with a couple of scary deer, the stop at the village of Freixa where we refresh ourselves in a fountain that springs with intensity... everything is adding charm to the route.

In the Port del Cantó, the first drops begin to fall. It's that moment when the legs are activated, and we pedal a little faster despite the fatigue. We pass in front of the Refuge Comas de Rubió and continue along tracks in amazing condition until San Juan de l'Erm, the final point of this magnificent circular tour, which a good part of it's located in the Natural Park of the High Pyrenees.
