GOLD FOR WÜST AND BRONZE FOR DÍAS IN THE FIRST RACE OF THE SEASON

La Leyenda de Tartessos has been the first race of the season in which the BUFF -MEGAMO TEAM has debuted. A competition that the team has not race out before and that has marked a starting point for this 2023 season.
The race, in the UCI S2 marathon category, was held in the province of Huelva with a total of 4 stages and 225km.
Janina Wüst, José Días and Enrique Morcillo were the 3 riders of the team who had participate with the new colors and the new bike Megamo Track.
Janina faced this race with great enthusiasm and desire since it was her first debut with the BUFF - MEGAMO TEAM.
In the first stage the riders had to complete 60 km with 900m D+. Janina got the first position, keeping a certain distance from the rest throughout the day. At the beginning of the race our three men positioned themselves in the first group and, with 10km to go, José started to push harder consolidating the 3rd position. Enrique very close to José, ended up crossing the finish line on 4th position just after his team partner.
The second stage consisting of 60km and 1500m D+ ended with great results for the team. Janina got the first place and remained in the first position overall. José fought until the end to lead the stage and finally got the second position. Enrique remained in the Top 10, crossing the finish line in seventh position.
The 3rd stage, called the Queen Stage and with a total of 92km and 2,500m D+, was the longest and most demanding. Janina finished in first position and José took the bronze medal. Enrique remained strong, continuing in the Top 10 overall and entering in the tenth position of the 3rd stage. It’s important to mention that Janina achieved, at the end of the stage, an advantage of more than 10' with the rest of the runners.
The fourth and final stage of the race had a total of 25km and 300m D+. It was a short time trial, but very demanding, where Enrique accomplished the 3rd position behind the Olympics David Valero and Jofre Cullell. Janina started in a conservative way, because she didn’t want to end up so exhausted for her upcoming race The Mediterranean Epic.

We highlight the debut of the Swiss rider who, after showing a fighting and ambitious attitude during all the stages, has achieved the first gold medal of the season.
The team returns home with very good feelings and very happy with the results. Highlighting the excellent performance of the new Megamo Track 2023 bike. With many positive comments about this new version and without suffering any breakdown or problem.
The BUFF - MEGAMO TEAM has started the season getting on the podium every day and with a first overall position in women and a third in men classification.
The next challenge this season is the Mediterranean Epic, a race that the team faces with high expectations and great enthusiasm after this great debut in La Leyenda de Tartessos.
